08/04/24 – 2nd 5/1 – Northern Air – Fergal O’Brien – Wincanton

Northern Airt was an impressive winner of his Irish point and was going well at home before his stable debut in a Newbury bumper but ran below expectations. This looks like an easier race and we'll be disappointed if he didn't run a much better race today.

08/04/24 – 1st 18/5 – Swiss Pride – Roger Teal – Lingfield

Swiss Pride is having his first run over a mile - the way he finished at Kempon the other day suggested he could easily stay that far. He's getting long in the tooth so the speed of younger days is not quite there. Every chance if he gets home.

This is the first run of the year for Gert Lush. She's as tough as old boots so while she doesn't have the greatest form on all weather, if her fitness holds she could run into a place.

06/04/24 – 1sr 3/1 – Accidental Legend – Fergal O’Brien – Uttoxeter

Accidental Legend is really consistent. He acts on the ground and should run his race again. Each-way chances at least but he could take the top prize if the race hasn't come too soon after his big effort at Market Rasen.

04/04/24 2nd 9/2 – Shantwopointfive – Warren Greatrex – Southwell

We bought Shantwopointfive soon after she won her only Irish point in soft going. Today's ground will make even two miles here a test and she should be equipped to handle it.

03/04/24 – 3rd 40/1 – Extrication – Roger Teal – Kempton Park

Extrication is a nice big horse making his debut for us tonight. He's five and having only his 2nd career start so he should come on for the run. He goes okay at home and I'm looking forward to tonight.

02/04/24 – 1st 9/2 – Justus – Micky Hammond – Pontefract

I'm pretty hopeful about Justus. He'll love the ground and while this is a tight race where all five have a chance, he looks fairly handicapped. It's his first flat run for us but he did well over hurdles, running-up to smart Dysart Enos and then he was wrong after his last race.

01/04/24 – 1st 5/2 – Al Barez – Tom Clover – Kempton Park

Al Barez is capable of winning off this mark. He has run well twice already this year and should give a good account again today.

01/04/24 – 1st 4/1 – Magical Escape – Kim Bailey – Chepstow

On his best form Magical Escape is capable of winning this. More recent evidence, though, is less compelling. Maybe going up in trip will help.

01/04/24 – 1st 11/8 – Wreckless Eric – Ben Pauling – Huntingdon

Wreckless Eric made a promising start with a 2nd and then a win in NH junior hurdles. He's in handicaps against much more experienced horses now and if he can beat these on today's terms he has prospects to go quite a bit further up the ladder.

31/03/24 – 1st 13/2 – King Of The Road – Ben Pauling – Market Rasen

King Of The Road has been disappointing to date, He wasn't good enough to win a novice and was beaten a fair way in his first handicap at Taunton. We need to see some improvement here.

30/03/24 – 3rd 100/1 – Damoiseau – Ian Williams – Wolverhampton

Damoiseau has yet to show us anything on the track since coming over from France. Even off this bargain basement mark, he's a 66/1 shot. Fair enough!

30/03/24 – 1st 9/1 – Master Breffni – Micky Hammond – Carlisle

We fancied Master Breffni last time and he was in front when he fell two from home. This switch back to hurdles is partly intended as a confidence booster, but he's in good form and could well make up for that lapse with a win.

30/03/24 – 1st 100/30 – Geryville – Micky Hammond – Carlisle

This race might fall right for Geryville, who gets first-time blinkers, half- rather than full-cup for us at least. He did wear headgear in France before coming to us and maybe he's been waiting for them? While he has a round action, he doesn't seem to like very deep ground, but he stays further than…

Everyone knows Civil Law is better around Wolverhampton, but he's no one-trick pony and also runs well on other tracks including Lingfield. He's a massive price considering he's been beaten only around two lengths in this race the last two years, albeit just outside the placings. At 33/1 he's vastly over-priced especially as he has…

It's back to normal where the draw is concerned, I'm afraid. In a big field, Chipstead is drawn unfavorably low while all the big players are high and near the stand rail. I'll leave it to Jack who knows far more about Newcastle than me, but it seems he'll need to work his way across…

Aqwaam has twice finished a good 2nd at Wolverhampton, the last time almost overcoming a slow start and trouble in running behind a revived Max Vega at this trip. If he can keep clear of trouble from his moderate draw in nine in this big field, he can gain overdue consolation.

28/03/24 – 1st 7/4 – Getaway Drumlee – Ben Pauling – Fontwell Park

Getaway Drumlee was taking on a decent horse in our Densworth on his return to action last month after more than a year off at Doncaster. He did well to beat the rest of them and has improved since. There's nothing of Densworth's class in here. Hopeful.

Jupiter Des Mottes is a nice young horse making his debut. I'm not sure about how he'll handle the ground but French horsers are usually okay on it.

27/03/24 – 1st 5/2 – Plaisir Des Flos – Fergal O’Brien – Wincanton

Plaisir Des Flos always showed ability at home but didn't reproduce on the track until last time at Sedgefield. He won easily enough that day, but now has a 9lb rise in his mark to cope with. We think he can.
