Seaston Spirit had been disappointing until getting off the mark over fences with a bang at Lingfield, winning by 13 lengths. The heavy ground that day was no problem and on a similar surface today, he should take all the beating despite the 9lb rise.

The Ogle Gogle Man won the race last year and should go in the testing ground. He’s a bit in and out but if things go his way then he ought to be in the first three.

Troubled Soul is in good form but is tricky and hard to catch right. The field looks pretty strong so possible each-way hopes.

Loose Chips, rising 14, will always be a legend even if his form has slipped. He's never won left-handed but the handicapper has certainly given him a chance.

Diamond Fort was unlucky last time, still going well enough in second place when falling three out over three miles at Chepstow. That trip was probably a bit too far for him and now back to two and a half miles he should go very close.

Wireless Operator is a real next year horse and that's why we're keeping him to bumpers this time. He goes very nicely and should run well.

This former English point-to-point winner has shown respectable form in his two hurdle races and this is his first run in a handicap. It's hard to tell whether he is well handicapped or not. This looks a tight race and I think he has place chances.

Strike West is dropping down the weights and becoming well handicapped. This is a tough contest for him but we expect him to run well at a big price on ground that will suit.

Republican ran on to be a remote third last time. There might be more to come but this is his third race and it might get easier after today.

Perfect Candidate won well over course and distance last time. He's in brilliant form at home and has a great chance of following up.

Ask A Honey Bee made a great start for the stable, winning nicely at Southwell. Our claiming amateur's allowance offsets the 7lb penalty and he looks to have a great each-way shout.

Fosters’Island comes from a good family of stayers. He is showing up nicely at home but this race looks rather warm. Being by Turtle Island he will enjoy the ground.

I was delighted with Snow Leopardess on her comeback at Newbury as she'd taken the chance to have a foal since her previous outing 26 months earlier. She retains all her enthusiasm and is sure to improve a great deal for Newbury. Each-way chances.

Yauthym, a daughter of Authorized, had plenty of experience on the level in France where she was placed six times in 11 starts. She has shown up well on the gallops and jumps nicely so she could well be in the shake-up.

In retrospect One Touch ran a much better race than the form might suggest in fourth at Southwell when the horses were out of form. I'm expecting a bold show today and rate him a good each-way prospect.

Bob Mahler put up easily his best performance since his spring exploits when third at Haydock. We expect further progress in what looks a winnable race.

Late Date ran well here when third in October but was disappointing last time at Sedgefield. However his ratio of wins to runs over fences - three from nine -  is good. This is competitive, but with a top amateur on board he should have an excellent chance.

Drewmain Legend is in form and running consistently. She won nicely at Leicester and will cope with the ground and the track. The one worry is it's a big step up in class but we expect her to run well.

Shakem Up'Arry would probably have won last time at Leicester but he fell three out when in the lead. This is a much deeper race but our horses are in better fettle than they were then. He'll enjoy the ground and is sure to go well.

It's been a long time since Enchancia's only run in a point-to-point 19 months ago. We will have to see how he goes today but he does have a future.
