Imperial Elysian remains in great form. The ground will be fine and the trip is perfect for him so hopefully he will win again.

Legal Eyes has had a wind operation since pulling up last time at Sandown. Ground, track and trip will all be suitable, so we're hopeful of a good run.

Minella Examiner was running very well last time out when falling two from home at Wetherby. We are hoping for a clear round of jumping as a similar performance would put him in with a big chance.

Everything is right for Cervaro Mix today with the ground and trip ideal. He ran okay back over hurdles at Taunton the other day and has had a little wind-op since that run. We are hoping he will be knocking on the door.

A big field may be tricky for See Forever as she needs to settle at the back and come with a well-timed run. Hopefully she will run through late to get a place at least.

Lucky's Dream did well to win last time. He is up 5lb for that but provided there's enough pace in the race to enable him to settle, he can finish strongly and follow up.

Palavecino looked a good prospect when upsetting a 1-7 shot on two-year-old debut 18 months ago. He's raced only once since, soon after the win and now returns having been gelded. He will possibly be ring-rusty so a watching brief is advised.

Double Up broke far too well, causing him to do too much too early. He's in the lowest grade he's been in for a long time, so hopefully if he can be taken back early, he should go well. He's certainly well handicapped.

It's half the battle when they act around here and The Retriever has done well both times on the track. He went close in a handicap last time and despite being put up 2lb for that, is probably the one to beat.

We were delighted with Almazhar Garde's performance at Catterick, where he jumped very well. I'm prepared to forgive his fall here next time as he was unlucky to come down at a fence where there were a few problems on the day. I'm taking him to get back on track and with a clear round…

Polish ran an excellent first race over hurdles at Taunton, staying on very strongly up the home straight. The extra distance should not be a problem. He has a great attitude and decent Flat-racing ability in staying handicaps so should be hard to beat.

Quoteline Direct ran too freely last time, but has had a month to freshen up. He surely has an each- way chance in today's race.

Two runners for us in this stayers' race and frankly I find it hard to split them. Estrela Star has had his chances and whether it's by misfortune  or lacking something in a finish I don't know but he hasn't taken them. He ought to go well at these weights.

The ground will probably not be as bad as it was when Lots Of Luck made his debut over fences at Hereford. He is only lowly-rated and must have a great chance in this race.

Originally rated 148 over fences in Ireland, Gangster has plummeted down the ratings since joining us. That is the result of poor form in three runs here, but they have all been over hurdles. He's a non-winner in seven chase starts, but has been given a chance off 121 by the handicapper. Hopefully he will…

We fancied Full Spes to run a big race on debut at Hereford in November but he tired in the testing ground. We've given him time to recover and expect   a better performance today.

This huge horse won his only start over fences at Ffos Las. This is a big step up on that race and four of these runners are very closely matched. Newtide was nearly the best of them over hurdles and we have always thought he would be a better chaser. We hope he is good…

Ask Dillon is a real stayer and he made a very promising return when third at Chepstow. He has a great chance in this - obvious each-way credentials but he could easily win it.

Today's trip should suit Bob Mahler and the quicker the ground the better for him. He's in great shape at home and should put in a big run.
