One Small Step has always shown plenty on the gallops but I admit I was unprepared for her near-miss on debut at Newmarket. She was right in there with some well-connected fillies, and I'm not worried about dropping her down a furlong as she has plenty of speed. Obvious chance of stepping up.

Tel'Art came back to something more like his bumper form around here last time, having lost his way last season over hurdles. He won with some authority and there's no reason why he shouldn't cope with the 8lb rise.

Frankelio has run two good races this summer and remains well weighted on his earlier better French form. Will be hard to beat and any rain would be to his advantage.

Cepheus was just touched off late in a hot finish to a highly-competitive Kempton handicap last time by a progressive four-year-old. He was raised 3lb for that but is an improving sort. However I do fear the Haggas horse who may have been let in lightly after his wide-margin Newmarket win.

Quaint ran much better at Haydock and watching her there I thought we should bring her back to 6f. I hope she handles the downhill, but if she does, she must have a decent chance.

Dashing Spirit could run well despite the unflattering odds. He couldn't handle Newmarket on debut especially coming down into the Dip, but he's in very good form at home. Small each-way chance.

This is a very weak race, but even in the context of a 0-50 Classified, it is hard to drum up much confidence in Truffle Mac. He started handicapping off 48 and that looked well beyond his capabilities at Chepstow the other day.

Shaffire put in a rare poor performance at Sandown last time. She has plenty of good form around here and at the available odds she might be a bit of each-way value.

Poker School returns after his break. He's running in the right race and his capable rider is good value for his claim. Decent chance with conditions also suitable.

Apres Le Deluge is in very good form for this stable debut and has been working well after his lengthy absence. If we have got the trip right then he will go very close. It is hard to know how good the two main market rivals might be, and it could be a close affair,…

Cervaro Mix ran flat on his final outing of a busy campaign last time and deserved his break. He usually comes back a bit gassy, so we're starting him over a trip short of his best, but he could still go well for a long way.

Caius Marcius ran a blinder first time back when switching to hurdles when third at Market Rasen. He'll be 100% for this and if anything it's a slighter easier opportunity. Great chance.

Imperial Elysian is a consistent sort and is in good form for the comeback. He may come on for the run, but should still run a good race.

This looks a competitive event. Global Tour jumps very well and he is fast over his fences. He could go well if getting an easy lead and holds each-way hopes.

Sound Of Cannons has been very disappointing the last few times. Until he shows something - hopefully today - I can't honestly recommend him with any confidence.

Imada is a grand horse who has plenty of ability but his career has been hindered by injury problems. The ground should be ideal today for this comeback  and this is his first time at three miles. I'm optimistic he'll stay and possibly make the first three.

Even off top-weight of 10st (less 7lb for his claiming rider) Matewan has a decent chance and 10-1 looks a good price. The favourite has gone up 12lb for his two wins, so we'll actually be carrying only 7lb more even after his three-year-old's allowance.

Libretti goes to Yarmouth in great form having done well to overcome trouble in running to win at Lingfield. The one worry is the ground, as I feel she might be better with some cut. Big chance if that proves unfounded.

A drop back in trip for Fubar is not really ideal after his good second here last time but needs must as he has to go right-handed and there are so few races suitable for him. He should be placed again.
