Monkey Puzzle is a half-brother to Presenting Percy and even though he’s unlikely to be anywhere near as good as him, he is better than his bare form suggests. Monkey has had plenty of bad luck in his career, running only seven times. He wants decent ground so last winter was a nightmare for him.…

28/08/20 1st 15/2 – Prabeni – Charlie Mann – Fontwell Park
I'll be looking at the going before running Prabeni as I think he's a fast-ground horse. He ran a fair race last time and could be worth small each-way support at a decent price should he take part.

28/08/20 1st 13/2 – Little Awkward – Oliver Sherwood – Fontwell Park
Little Awkward is a good-looking grey gelding by Montmartre. I bought him at Goff's Land Rover sale and had racing not been suspended in March he would have run in the spring. He goes nicely enough at home, but as with all my bumper horses he is not trained to the minute. He knows his…

28/08/20 1st 13/8 – Alpine Mistral – Shaun Keightley – Newmarket
Alpine Mistral has a 6lb penalty for this four-timer attempt but she's so well after Wolverhampton last week I felt I had to run her. If anything I believe she's better on turf than all-weather and has no problem with soft ground. Highly possible she can win again.

27/08/20 1st 15/8 – Tanfantic – Brian Meehan – Lingfield Park
Tanfantic was disappointing last time at Newbury. However, on his smart debut win at Windsor and unlucky-in-running fourth in a Listed race at Sandown, he should prove hard to beat today.

26/08/20 1st 4/9 – Treaty Of Dingle – Hughie Morrison – Lingfield Park
I'm surprised Treaty Of Dingle is so short as she's unfavourably weighted on official ratings with Micky Quinn's runner. I thought if we put her in for a decent claim (12k) she wouldn't be picked up to go to a racing authority where horse welfare is less of a priority. She's very genuine and consistent,…

26/08/20 1st 6/1 – Whitehaven – Hughie Morrison – Lingfield Park
My first thought was that I would be amazed if Whitehaven finished in the first three. But then he didn't work too badly this week, so maybe he could sneak a place at a big price.

26/08/20 1st 3/1 – Authors Dream – William Knight – Lingfield Park
Author's Dream ran a blinder in the marathon at Goodwood, finishing fifth, barely a length behind the winner after looking a real threat a furlong out. The withdrawal of today's short-priced favourite turns an each-way chance into an obvious winning opportunity.

25/08/20 1st 5/4 – Cool Destination – Fergal O’Brien – Bangor
Cool Destination is in good form at home. He sometimes needs his first run as he is a stuffy type but this is a good start. There is another horse of a similar standard so it should be a good battle for the win between them.

25/08/20 1st 10/3 – Wellntyne – Warren Greatrex – Bangor
First time out for Wellntyne, a likeable son of Multiplex. He has a great attitude and does everything right at home. Hopefully the rain won’t turn it into too much of a slog in which case we can see him making the frame.

24/08/20 1st 15/2 – Kiruna Peak – Fergal O’Brien – Southwell
Kiruna Peak loves quick ground and will be better suited to a smaller field and reverting to a novice handicap. This race looks competitive so we are hoping for a place.

23/08/20 1st 3/1 – Top Billing – Nicky Richards – Cartmel
Top Billing doesn't mind these conditions but as ever with him it's a question of whether he's in the mood. Hughsie got him into a position where he pretty much had to grind it out last time here and hopefully he might get him there again.

23/08/20 1st 8/1 – Seinesational – William Knight – Sandown
Nothing went to plan with Seinesational at Goodwood. He was much too keen and I think we have to draw a line under it. He's a course and distance winner and should be competitive with the ground fine for him today.

22/08/20 1st 7/4 – Beyond The Clouds – Charlie Longsdon – Uttoxeter
Beyond The Clouds ran a superb race first time for us and I'm confident we can turn the form around with Cubswin who got first run. Brian Hughes, his regular rider in the past, renews acquaintance and that can only be a positive.

22/08/20 1st 28/1 – Lilkian – Shaun Keightley – Chelmsford
I'm not sure if Lilkian gets seven furlongs but we'll find out tonight. He's been a little out of sorts with himself but if we can get him back to earlier form he'd have a chance here if he stays. Whatever happens it's another ride for our promising 7lb claimer.

21/08/20 1st 15/8 – Twilight Song – Ian Williams – Salisbury
We don't have many precocious two-year-olds through our hands, but Twilight Song ran a blinder first time out at Windsor when third of 15 to Atalis Bay. The winner easily won next time off 85 in a nursery so our nice colt must have a good chance of getting his head in front today.

21/08/20 1st 9/4 – Saintbury Lady – Fergal O’Brien – Newton Abbot
Hopefully she will turn up as the same mare as last time when she rather surprised us when winning. She does have ongoing issues so we can’t always have total confidence in her, but this is the right race for her and she has every chance of following up.

21/08/20 1st 7/4 – Cheltenam De Vaige – Fergal O’Brien – Newton Abbot
This doesn't look as uncompetitive as the race Cheltenham De Vaige won here last time. He could still get involved today even with the 5lb penalty but he wouldn't want any more rain.

21/08/20 1st 13/2 – Alpine Mistral – Shaun Keightley – Wolverhampton
Alpine Mistral has taken quite a jump in the ratings after her two easy wins, but I still think she can run well. The worry is the high draw and if she gets pushed wide on that first turn it could be game over. Then again she came round them all at Yarmouth and won…
