Point winner Blue Sans goes very well. We are really hopeful that she is forward enough to win first time under Rules.

Flirtatious Girl is a lovely filly who was meant to run three weeks ago at Uttoxeter but was balloted out. Anyway she's here and ready to run. We like her and are hoping for a very bold showing and while she'll be green and inexperienced, so will many of the others.

Ocean Drifter ran a blinder on his hurdles debut at Uttoxeter when second to an odds-on shot. He jumped nicely and settled well which was encouraging because he can be keen and buzzy at home. He took that race in his stride and is much more relaxed now at home. He has a great chance…

Fiscal Prudence makes his hurdling debut here and as his jumping has been very accurate, we are looking forward to his first run for the yard. He has a really good attitude and we will ride him to settle and get the trip. Hopeful of a good start to his new career.

Pencreek had a couple of bumper runs for Willie Mullins in the summer of last year before joining us. He's had a long while off - he had a bit of a tweak in a leg - but he's ready to run now. I'm sure he'll be better for this first experience of hurdles.

Famous Last Word was an in-and-out performer in point-to-points but is a real chasing type. He will find it tough to go along with the front-runners in this race, but we expect him to show promise for the future.

I think Conceal will go all right. He ran the better of his two bumpers up here last January, competitive until he got tired. He was fine on the track and will appreciate the extra distance so we're hopeful of a good run.

Poor old Nestor. After a great start to his career it all went wrong last season although there was a little more encouragement in his last run at Doncaster. If he can get his jumping right and return to his best he would be thrown in.

Cool Destination made a fantastic chase debut. It may prove to have been a good thing for his handicap mark that he was beaten in a photo-finish as he has been left on his hurdles mark of 122. We think he should win today.

Ejtilaab ran very well at Chester last time and I'm confident he'll act at Chelmsford. He should make his presence felt in this company.

De Barley Basklet is a very good work horse but on the track so far he's been a serial disappointment I'm afraid. We're stepping him up to a longer trip today and I'm hopeful that will bring a good deal of improvement, in which case he'll go close.

The step up in trip brought an improved effort and a second career win for Tanqeeb last time. There is no reason why he shouldn't build on that with another good performance today.

Maison D'Or has been going nicely at home. He will enjoy the good ground today and as he goes well fresh he could have a decent each-way chance. However that goes, it should put him spot on next time for the Catterick race he won 12 months ago.

The Bees Knees is in superb form at home and comes here after winning well last time at Newton Abbot. He looks to have been given a workable mark and we are hoping he can win off it.

Cornerstone Lad will have come on a good deal fitness-wise for his recent comeback around here and he will be ridden much closer to the front this time. The ground will be to his liking and hopefully he can win this before returning to his main job of jumping.

Bobhopeornohope had good bumper form and this former Irish point winner will enjoy being over hurdles. This looks a mighty competitive division and we will probably have to settle for place chances.

Jersey Bean won well at Newton Abbot, making most of the running and jumping from fence to fence. He’s been a revelation since the blinkers were fitted as they have focused his mind and sharpened up his jumping. He’s been full of confidence since that race so I'm hopeful of another bold run. Good chance.

One Small Step has been running well all season. The return to a mile should suit her on this surface and she go very close under William Buick.

It was great to see the horses running into form over the past few days and I wouldn't be shocked if Quoteline Direct went close. Billy Garrity thought he should have ridden him closer to the pace at Southwell the other day and I'll be encouraging P.J. to have him handy tonight. Should go well…
