Electric Bass has had a couple of runs, improving from 1st run to 2nd and he should progress again today. Whether that enables him to sneak into a place I'm not sure, but he'll certainly find things easier once handicapping.

24/01/25 – 1st 25/1 – Harjo – Charlie Longsdon – Doncaster

Harjo has the ability but needs to pull his finger out. That said, Huntingdon last time was more encouraging and his jockey there thought going up in trip would help. We'll find out today.

24/01/25 – 1st 7/2 – Salt Rock – Kim Bailey – Doncaster

Salt Rock won cosily last time at Hereford and this track should suit him. If the ground does not go soft then he must have a great chance

23/01/25 – 2nd 50/1 – Wolf Moon – Ben Pauling – Huntingdon

Wolf Hall was beaten a long way in his single UK point-to-point last May. He like all the rest will find German Group 1 flat winner and £1.4 million buy Palladium a tough proposition.

23/01/25 – 1st 12/1 – Geryville – Micky Hammond – Wetherby

Geryville has a decent weight and should have no worries with the ground. He has run some of his better races at Wetherby and is probably our best chance here today.

22/01/25 – 2nd 12/1 – Orchestra – Fergal O’Brien – Kempton Park

Orchestra had a run around here over an inadequate 1m3f in October which he followed by winning a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Huntingdon. He disappointed on a return to that track soon after, but 2m tonight on AW should suit well. Each-way chance.

22/01/25 – 1st 10/1 – Whenthedealinsdone – Roger Teal – Lingfield

Whenthedealinsdone has been running consistently without quite managing a win for some time. Another chance for him to get in the money.

22/01/25 – 1st 10/1 – Ellexis – Roger Teal – Lingfield

Ellexis ran well when 2nd the last day. She needs to overcome the outside draw but with luck in running, she can go close.

21/01/25 – 1st 13/2 – They’re Chancers – Nicky Richards – Ayr

They're Chancers is a fine horse, a smashing big 3m chasing type, one that my father would have loved to train. He's one of two very nice young horses the Rooneys have sent us. Wherever he finishes today, he'll still be a lovely prospect when he comes home this evening.

20/01/25 – 1st 7/2 – Distant Rumble – Roger Teal – Kempton Park

Distant Rumble was gelded after his last 3rd-placed run at Bath and we've given him a break since then. If his fitness holds up and he doesn't get tired he'll run a solid race, but in any case, he'll improve for the run.

20/01/25 – 1st 5/4 – Leader In The Park – Ben Pauling – Warwick

Leader In The Park improved to win a similar novices handicap chase at Kempton on Boxing Day. Being raised 4lb isn't excessive and I'm hopeful he can complete the follow-up.

18/01/25 – 1st 15/2 – Northern Air – Fergal O’Brien – Taunton

Northern Air ran well at Ayr and less so at Lingfield after which we gave her a wind-op. Hopefully that will contribute to a better effort here. Each-way chance.

18/01/25 – 2nd 25/1 – Future Fortune – Warren Greatrex – Taunton

Future Fortune jumped well on her hurdling debut but got a little tired. The fitness should be better today and we're expecting her to finish off more strongly.

18/01/25 – 1st 9/4 – Margaret’s Legacy – Warren Greatrex – Haydock

Margaret's Legacy was a convincing winner last time and seems to have grown in confidence since. She should love it around here and can put in another positive performance.

Eyed might have been a high-class chaser but has had issues through his life. He looks the best now since I've had him but there's still mixed messages: the lad who ride him two days ago said he felt "flat", yesterday with another it was: "very good". If he runs as he looks he should…

I have my misgivings about the revived Windsor track but when they put on the kind of prizemoney there is this weekend, if you have a horse that fits, you have to run. Secret Squirrel is very well handicapped, but I'm not sure if he's tough enough for this level of competition. Hopeful rather than…

Herakles Westwood showed at Newbury he was going the right way with an easy win on only his 2nd start over fences. Even with the 7lb rise in his mark, he looks very well treated in this. Big chance.

11/01/25 – 1st 7/2 – Keep Running – Warren Greatrex – Ffos Las

Keep Running put in a fantastic performance to win last time out. It's a step up in class today but he is in really good form and will no doubt put his best foot forward.

11/01/25 – 3rd 20/1 – Korus – Warren Greatrex – Ffos Las

Korus disappointed a little last time, but conditions that day were very testing. If he leaves that behind him we should see a return to form from him here.
