Karl Philippe ran a very close 3rd over CD two weeks ago. He has plenty of weight, but he ought to be right there in the firing line once more.

06/05/24 – 1st 5/4 – Ryan’s Rocket – Fergal O’Brien – Kempton Park
Point winner Ryan's Rocket has been improving all through the year and will have his chance again in a tough novice hurdle. It's not easy to concede the weight-for-age to 4yo's at this time of year and the favourite has very solid form so will be hard to beat.

05/05/24 – 2nd 9/1 – Sun God – Hughie Morrison – Newmarket
Sun God improved through last season, winning his last race at Lingfield very easily. Whether he can cope with the 9lb weight rise for that is the question. He might just need it today.

05/05/24 – 1st 5/1 – Stay Alert – Hughie Morrison – Newmarket
If you'd asked me a week ago I would have been optimistic about Stay Alert in this Group 2 but the last couple of runners from here have been disappointing. She's top on official ratings though and this is the right race for her. Fingers crossed.

05/05/24 – 1st 9/1 – Dakota Power – Roger Teal – Salisbury
Dakota Power was probably going over the top by the time of his last run on AW over the winter so we've given him a freshen-up. This is an amateurs' race and Megan is drawn in the middle so she can decide whether to take the normal route or come stands side as they often…

04/05/24 – 1st 5/1 – Ambassador – Micky Hammond – Uttoxeter
Ambassador returns after his break in a race where four of the 11 declared runners have been taken out. That suggests the ground will be testing, not his favoured conditions - he's best on good. He might still run okay, but he has a big weight and we're taking 10lb off for Josh.

04/05/24 – 2nd 40/1 – Aalto – Ian Williams – Newmarket
Aalto was a Longchamp winner early last summer and we held out high hopes for him when he arrived here. We've only managed to get him on the track a couple of times, and he returns here after another six-month absence, We'll be looking for a run somewhere near the action in this big field.

01/05/24 – 3rd 12/1 – Mr Mistoffelees – Hughie Morrison – Kempton Park
Mr Mistoffeles has plenty of ability - more than enough to win this - but he has been disappointing and this is something of a last-chance saloon for him. If he is going to win, Kempton and the number one draw offer as good a chance as anywhere.

01/05/24 – 1st 100/30 – Giselles Defence – Ian Williams – Pontefract
Giselles Defence made a very promising start for the yard when beaten only a neck on soft ground at Nottingham. Similar soft conditions should be to the liking of this ex-Irish gelding who can go one better now.

29/04/24 – 3rd 25/1 – Loving Look – Hughie Morrison – Windsor
It's the first time out for Loving Look. I'll be surprised if she proves good enough to win a maiden and I expect she'll be green for this today.

28/04/24 – 1st 5/2 – Al Barez – Tom Clover – Southwell
It was great to see Al Barez get his head in front last time. He's in great form and this has been his target. These sprints are always a bit of a lottery but he's good enough if it falls right.

28/04/24 – 1st 10/1 – Law Supreme – Ian Williams – Bath
Two runners in this and Law Supreme, who was running well with two 2nd places at the start of the year, returns after a break following a couple of lesser performances. His best run was at Southwell but he was a winner in France on turf two years ago, so a good run probably out-performing…

– Justus – Micky Hammond – Ripon
27/04/24 - 1st 6/1 Original quote: "Justus deserves to get a break sometime soon. He's been on the go for the whole winter and also by all accounts through last summer with Ian Williams. He's done us proud, winning and then running 2nd to Dysart Enos over hurdles, before outstaying the field in great style…

26/04/24 – 1st 5/2 – Royal Velvet – William Knight – Newcastle
Royal Velvet is probably my best chance of the day. She won nicely 2nd time out over this trip at Wolverhampton and looks to be fairly weighted. She, too, is in the right race and we are very hopeful she can get the first win on her card.

26/04/24 – 1st 7/2 – Sageburg County – Warren Greatrex – Chepstow
Sageburg County ran well last time out and continues to go well at home. Conditions should suit and he should put in another good performance.

26/04/24 – 1st 10/1 – Wolf Prince – Fergal O’Brien – Chepstow
Wolf Prince won nicely last month at Taunton. He's been raised 7lb for that and while we hope he can make the necessary improvement, it could be a close affair.

25/04/24 – 1st 7/1 – Beggarman – Hughie Morrison – Chelmsford
I hate to say it, but Beggarman doesn't like winning. As we saw with American Gerry yesterday, horses can win when you least expect them to.

25/04/24 – 1st 11/2 – Serious Ego – Nicky Richards – Perth
Serious Ego has given his owners some great fun and excitement this season and I hope the ground hasn't dried too much. He has a big weight and if it isn't wet one or two lower down the handicap might be more than a match for him.

25/04/24 – 1st 12/1 – Gwash – Fergal O’Brien – Warwick
Gwash was placed in a bumper but didn't run to expectations first time over hurdles. There's time for him to make an impact, starting, we hope, today.

23/04/24 – 1st 20/1 – Irv – Micky Hammond – Wolverhampton
This isn't much of a race, although it's fair to say that Irv is no longer too talented a horse. He does go well enough fresh, though, and today might be the time to catch him.
