Now a three-runner affair and not only does Gambie Tiep get 14lb and 12lb from his two opponents, Beau's 5lb claim stretches it even further. He's no star but we think there's another race or two in him and hope today could be one of them.

Lady Percival has been very difficult to train hence her late return to action. She ran well at Wolverhampton under a big weight the other day, and now we're on the turf. She hasn't seen grass, even at home, since her run at Haydock last September as we have to be careful with her, but…

Chess Player has been pretty consistent over the last year and you can put a line through his latest run, although the form figure '2' is by his name. The saddle slipped a long way from home and Beau did well to keep the partnership intact. Chances under Kielan today if he avoids mishaps.

Dire La Verite, a son of Muhaarar, will benefit from the experience.

Jeudidi won his first bumper well although it's hard to evaluate the form. He virtually bolted last time and was far too free. He now starts over hurdles. He jumps well and if he settles he has place chances.

Captain Tommy has had a revival this year, winning at Bangor in May, and was not disgraced in a valuable race at Uttoxeter when 6th to Twig. His latest run was disappointing but overall he comes into this open contest with decent claims.

Happy Hadeda is a nicely-bred filly who showed promise at Goodwood on debut. We're forced to run her in races open to the million-pound horses due to her pedigree and this is sure to be tough today. Could run into a place though.

After a near year break, Zealandia has been coming steadily into form. He was a good 2nd last time at Chester and if he can build on that over this longer trip, there would be possibilities.

Jayarebe is a very nice colt. Hopefully he can show on the track what he does at home although the favourite looks solid and was a good 2nd in a similar race  here two weeks ago.

Book Of Tales won a couple of staying handicaps on the flat for Charlie Johnston this summer and looks the type to do well over hurdles. He has shown promise in his schooling and we will be hopeful that he can be thereabouts on this debut,

A winner at Kempton and then 5th at a massive price in a Newbury Listed race, Inishfallen has improved from race to race over his three runs. We've waited for this race and think he is nicely handicapped. Big each-way chances.

This novices' hurdle looks likely to develop into a match and our 11yo Cheltenam De Vaige, a multiple chase and point winner, will be running his usual brave race. He will probably come out second best here but will give the favourite a battle all the way to the finish.

Tribal Glory won his one Irish point in good style and did well when just edged out by his market rival here on bumper debut. He is sure to be tough to beat.

Police Academy made an impressive winning start after joining the stable from Oliver Sherwood who has retired. That was over hurdles after she had been running over fences and we think she should be able to defy the penalty his evening.

Although beaten a long way in a very valuable race at the trip at Haydock two runs back, Pull Again Green has been crying out for three miles. This race is a different matter entirely and we are hopeful he can run into the first three.
