Malakahna continues to run well with places in her two runs since returning to flat racing. She is sure to have an each-way chance again with a talented apprentice taking off a valuable 3lb.

Green Team hasn't really been at the races at all this year. This smaller field might offer a chance to show something better.

Oneforthegutter hasn't matched earlier form in his two runs this year and has been coming down the ratings. Whether he's in the right form to bounce back today might be questionable but the ability is still in there somewhere.

Dvasboy has been gradually coming into form this season and now gets a nice draw, a good 7lb claimer and a first-time visor to go with his modestly reducing mark. The ingredients for a first win of the season perhaps?

Since his win at Wolverhampton in late February, Dream Harder has put in a series of creditable runs without much luck. One of the more striking was his close fourth here at the May meeting and if he gets the breaks for a change, he could be back in the winner's circle tonight.

Toca Madera ran two good races at Bath, making up for an unlucky debut defeat with a smooth win next time. Ascot didn't work out but he's better than that and I think he has a chance of a place at a very big price.

Holkham Bay has been off for a  long time and may just lack that little bit of match fitness. That said, he goes okay and his form last summer in his two races was very promising. Hopeful.

We run two in this mares' handicap hurdle. Call Me Tara has been very consistent and last time would have been 2nd bar falling at the last flight at Huntingdon. She's had time to recover and should challenge again tonight, stepping up to 2m4f which ought to suit her.

We picked up Gambie Tiep cheaply at Ascot sales for the Racing Club. Trainers always claim that they know nothing about gambles on their horses but our yard man had a nice bit each-way at 16/1 whereupon he was cut to 8's. Some of the other lads joined in and now he's 3/1! We're standing…

Herewegohoney was disappointing last time but has a chase win on her card when finishing alone in a three-horse race last season, when she also had decent hurdle form. This is a modest handicap chase and she must be the one to beat.

Irv remains on a career-low mark but there were glimmers of hope at Ripon where he had anything but a clear run. Becky has ridden him in five of his last eight races and with pace likely, he can come with a run in the straight. His last win was for Becky in July last…

Twoforthegutter was desperately disappointing at Pontefract. Although yet to figure in any of his races, I feel he is very well handicapped on what he shows us at home and expect an improved performance tonight.

Golden Maverick ran very well when 2nd last time at Newmarket. He suggested there that stepping up to 1m2f had brought improvement and this race doesn't have the same depth. Big chance.

Bunker Bay is becoming a little frustrating. Last time at Haydock it didn't go to plan but the ground was probably too fast and I'm returning him to Yarmouth where he ran his best race of the year off this mark. Only four runners, so he must have a good chance of getting that elusive…

Typical Woman ran well when a close 4th at Southwell last time. She has a couple of good 2nd places on her card at Haydock and the champion can be relied upon to give her the best chance of winning. They could easily do it!

Surrey Belle has been free in her races so far but we think she has some ability. She will need to settle first time in a handicap and we are also banking on some rain in which event she should run well.

Blue Sans won well last time over this CD. She gained confidence from a run in a point after a disappointing campaign in 2022 and can continue in good form here. Can go close.                 be able to maintain the progress to win again.
