Callin Baton Rouge has point-to-point experience and a line can be put through her bumper run where things didn’t go quite right for her. I'm looking forward to getting her going over hurdles here, and expect her to give a good account of herself

29/05/23 – 3rd 40/1 – Indelible Spin – Charlie Longsdon – Huntingdon
Indelible Spin hasn't shown us much so far. He still needs today's run to qualify for a handicap mark, having failed to complete once in three starts over jumps. Then it should be easier to find him a realistic opportunity.

29/05/23 – 1st 3/1 – Chess Player – Ben Pauling – Huntingdon
Two of today's three runners have been rushed back to fitness and it's a question of whether I've managed to do enough with them and the strength of the opposition. Chess Player is one of those and first time out since competing in what proved a void race at Bangor in October, he has plenty…

27/05/23 – 1st 8/1 – Lady Robinn – Ben Pauling – Ffos Las
Lady Robbin hasn't shown much in her races. The hope is that the wind surgery she had after the third run will make a difference in this very low-grade mares' handicap hurdle.

27/05/23 – 1st 8/1 – Jersey Lady – Oliver Sherwood – Cartmel
Jersey Lady won at Plumpton on her most recent outing under an accomplished ride by Vic Malzard. Jersey Lady has occasionally been too keen, but here she relaxed nicely, travelled well and finished very strongly. Her jumping was very good as well, so we're hopeful of a follow-up.

27/05/23- 1st 12/1 – Chipstead – Roger Teal – York
Chipstead is back in handicap company after his tilt at a Group-race sprint on 2000 Guineas Day when the ground was much too soft for him. He can start slowly, something that makes life difficult in five-furlong races at York. I noticed the other day that the leaders tend not to come back. If he…

26/05/23 – 1st 16/1 – Faerie Cutlass – Kim Bailey – Worcester
It's hard to work out which side of the handicapper Faerie Cutlass is on. She ran disappointingly last time but I think she found the initial run in a handicap quite a shock. Perhaps a step up in trip and racing against fellow females will suit. Hopefully, she can run well.

26/05/23 – 2nd 28/1 – Prisha – Tom Clover – Haydock
Prisha is a lovely big scopey filly who has always worked well at home. We drew a line through her debut at Kempton as nothing went right for her and hopefully, she shows her true colours today. It's a deep race but she's a nice filly.

25/05/23 – 1st 11/4 – Jungle Run – Tom Clover – Chelmsford
Jungle Run has the headgear back on at a track that suits him. Not the most reliable, if he fancies it he'll go close.

25/03/23 – 2nd 11/1 – Anjo Bonita – Micky Hammond – Haydock
The market has latched on to one of the two Gosden fillies and it seems pretty certain which is expected. Ango Bonito was being considered for a 3yo fillies' handicap instead but the owner wanted to come here and he can be rewarded by another run in the money. Anjo Bonito is street-wise for certain…

24/05/23 – 2nd 11/1 – Three Macks – Charlie Longsdon – Southwell
Three Macks has not been running too badly. She'll try to get her head in front and can run well but the Pipe horse looks potentially different class.

24/05/23 – 2nd 17/2 – Mr Boson – Hughie Morrison – Kempton Park
I always thought Mr Boson was a nice horse but so far he's gone well in his races until he comes off the bit and finds very little. First time in a handicap from not the greatest draw - our four tonight are in 8, 8, 9 and 10! - I'm going there unsure of…

23/05/23 – 1st 7/1 – Kildrum – Micky Hammond – Hexham
Conor O'Farrwell steps in for Emma here on Kildrum. The ground may have gone a little livelier than ideal but he is fresh and well and he's run two blinders here the last twice. Two non-runners leave this a four-horse affair and he can dominate.

23/05/23 – 1st 12/1 – Glinger Flame – Nicky Richards – Hexham
Glinger Flame has won four times around Hexham and Brian was pleased with his comeback run recently at Ayr after a very long absence. Then again, he didn't want to ride him today! Glinger can improve on that and is in good order. Hoping to get in the money.

23/05/23 – 1st 10/1 – Buto – Micky Hammond – Hexham
Buto showed his first glimmer since coming over from Ireland but the handicap mark took another 4lb drop. Emma was due to ride but she got injured last night and Josh Thompson who claims 10lb in the boys' races steps in. He has promise but needs to get stronger, something that will come with more…

20/05/23 – 1st 100/30 – Landen Calling – Fergal O’Brien – Bangor
Just five runners for Landen Calling's first run in a chase. He did well when given the chance to run at 3m over hurdles and jumps fences well, so we are hopeful of a positive start to his new career.

20/05/23 – 1st 6/1 – Captain Tommy – Ian Williams – Bangor
It's great when owners are optimistic but Captain Tommy has been asked some tougher questions than he could answer of late. Now down in his right grade and with a chance of winning, hopefully, he can accept the opportunity and go close.

17/05/23 – 1st 5/1 – Destroytheevidence – Kim Bailey – Worcester

17/05/23 – 1st 7/1 – Wick Green – Ben Pauling – Worcester
Wick Green was very disappointing last time, never travelling and he didn't jump with the fluency of his earlier runs for us. Cheek-pieces are tried today and if they could help get back to last autumn's form he could go close.
