Another Emotion has been in good form at home and this looks the ideal race for him. The negative is that we see him to best efect on testing ground.

Apple Rock has so far been some way below the level he achieved last winter. Accordingly his mark has come down to 6lb below his last winning rating and he only needs to find his feet again to go close in this open handicap.

Second twice in bumpers, Lutinebella will know more than most of these and on form is the pick. The problem, though, as ever will be something unexposed coming from out of the pack. Good chance especially if that doesn't materialise.

Bobhopeornohope runs in a competitive handicap but we know he acts on the track and the ground should be perfect for him. He goes there in very good form

This is undoubtedly the right race for Castle Robin who was sick after his last run. At Exeter earlier in the season he beat Lord Accord and is now 3lb better off. On that he is the form choice in a tricky three-horse affair.

Mr Grey Sky showed improved form to win last time. He has gone up 6lb in the handicap but so long as the ground does not dry out too much, he should again go very close.

Ajero won four times in an excellent season last winter. After a couple of runs he is now now back on that last winning mark and with the ground at Taunton probably to his liking he can easily resume the winning thread here.

Desaray Girl came good in a conditionals' race at Wetherby, so misses a penalty and Emma who rode her there is only two winners away from losing her 7lb claim. Desaray Girl was dropped 4lb before Wetherby and will actually carry 23lb less here. Big chance on similar ground

Nestor Park has yet to win over fences but he has run several excellent races in defeat especially around here. The cards will fall right for him one day and hopefully it will be this afternoon.

Crystal Glory is an interesting horse and while this is a step up in grade I think he can handle it. His form at Newcastle took a boost when the winner who was receiving 12lb won at Wetherby impressively this week. Nothing would surprise me, apart from his running poorly. I think he has a…

Two For Gold is the lowest-rated in the field but comes here on a roll and in tremendous form. He will handle conditions well and it wouldn't be the biggest surprise to see him scoop a place. 

Does He Know is top-rated here even though he does have to carry a 3lb penalty He has jumped very well in all three starts and should go very close.

East Asia had a great time winning four for his Dubai-based owner in the UK on joining us last year. He likes the trip but has a few pounds - as does Enemy - to find on several in this field. He can lay down a marker on what he can achieve during the rest…

After an excellent second in a competitive race for the grade at Southwell, Timeless Beauty disappointed at Lingfield. Her best form has been on galloping tracks and as she also goes in this ground there are hopes for an instant revival.

Trac has been generally disappointing but there was a glimmer of hope in his latest run at Newcastle when he kept on for seventh over an inadequate two miles. Up in trip again he could make some more progress.

Findthetime is at the right end of the handicap and hopefully is still improving after his two wins. The biggest worry is getting him to the start, but assuming that goes without a hitch he has a great chance of completing the hat-trick. 

Desaray Girl is well suited by the ground. Over fences last time Conor said when she saw the board in front of the ditches she seemed to panic, but that she had felt great apart from that. Back hurdling and with Emma able to claim 6lb, she has a chance to dominate in this lower-grade…

Miss Farfax is on a hiding to nothing in this small field although the trip will be fine. The Greenall horse looks potentially useful so it's far from a penalty kick. If she comes through there's a nice target at Doncaster to aim at later on.

Fingers crossed we hope everything goes right today for Snow Leopardess. This looks a nice opportunity to run against mares over a suitable trip. Obviously the Grand National has always been the plan but as I said earlier, fingers crossed today!

This will also be a huge learning curve for Trelawne who is by Geordieland. You would not expect too much in the way of speed from that pedigree but as with our other horse we would like to see a positive first run. I'm looking to the future too with him and again he should…
