Dockpickedme won nicely over 2m4f in the mud here last month. The stretching out in distance is compensated by the much faster going and he can follow up in a tight handicap.

29/01/22 – 1st 9/1 – Imperial Alcazar – Fergal O’Brien – Cheltenham
Imperial Alcazar has been a tad disappointing but he loves the track and the trip could prove perfect for him. Each-way hopes off his tough mark.

29/01/22 – 1st 4/1 – Kissininthebackrow – Brian Meehan – Lingfield
Kissininthebackrrow has put in a couple of creditable runs with two second places. We'd like to think she'll get over the line first this time but probably is booked again for the runner-up spot.

28/01/22 – 1st 7/2 – Western Zephyr – Charlie Longsdon – Huntingdon
Western Zephyr won his point at Barbary racecourse very easily and while he is really a galloper and not a typical bumper horse we are looking forward to this stable debut. Each-way chances for this promising type.

28/01/22 – 1st 7/1 – Raffles Gitane – Harry Whittington – Huntingdon
Athough eventually pulled up on the testing ground last time around here, Raffles Gitane showed up well for a long way. On this faster surface, dropped a few pounds and with Ben again taking 7lb off, we expect a better showing from him.

28/01/22 – 1st 4/5 – Shallow River – Fergal O’Brien – Huntingdon
Shallow River won a strong Wincanton bumper in very good style last time out. He makes his jumping debut in what looks a fairly competitive event but that bumper form is quite compelling.

226/1/22 – 3rd 16/1 – Royal Practitioner – Fergal O’Brien – Wincanton
Royal Practitioner won on debut but has found running with penalties a different issue. She will have needed her run at Ludlow after a six-month break and that was a very hgih-class mares' novice in which to try to concede weight. Her initial handicap mark looks fair and she could figure in the finish.

26/1/22 – 1st 5/2 – Abuffalosoldier – Warren Greatrex – Wincanton
Abuffalosoldier won his bumper last time out and is a horse I like a lot. We are looking for a confident round of jumping on this hurdles debut and expect him to show a good account of himself.

26/01/22 – 1st 16/1 – The Resdev Way – Micky Hammond – Lingfield
With Becky able to ride this was a good chance to get The Resdev Way into an amateurs' staying handicap. I would have preferred an even longer trip and the draw in 12 of 13 is not ideal but Serena is drawn 11 so if she goes forward Becky can follow her. If not she…

25/01/22 – 1st 7/2 – Mr Grey Sky – Kim Bailey – Leicester
Mr Grey Sky ran well for two miles last time but did not see out the extra distance. We are dropping back in trip which should suit. He loves testing ground and I just hope it is soft enough. Place chances or better if the ground's okay.

25/01/22 – 1st 9/2 – Bowtogreatness – Ben Pauling – Leicester
Bowtogreatness improved to win last time at Ffos Las after an unlucky fall there previously. He will make a bold bid to defy the penalty but there are a few unexposed and possibly useful sorts taking him on. Good chance despite that.

24/01/22 – 1st 11/4 – Quoteline Direct – Micky Hammond – Wolverhampton
Quoteline Direct has not won for ages but he put in a decent run first time back after a break at Newcastle four days ago. It's a quick turn around into another 0-50 classified which if anything is even less competitive than last time. Rab Havlin is a good booking and he can go close…

24/01/22 – 1st 15/8 – Reset Button – Ian Williams – Kempton Park
Reset Button's recent form speaks for itself, one win and three close second places. Despite that he remains at the right end of this moderate field. With a good chance of a decent pace and David Probert in the saddle he should go very close once more.

24/01/22 – 1st 9/1 – Sparkle In His Eye – Micky Hammond – Kempton Park
Sparkle In His Eye has dropped to his lowest mark and runs off 52 in a 0-52. His draw in one might not be easy for his young rider who has only a single previous ride on the track. If he can get him out and in a good position Sparkle In His Eye must…

23/01/22 – 1st 5/2 – Our Jester – Hughie Morrison – Lingfield
Our Jester seems to be in good order and his Ascot win was very good. His sister Urban Artist ran moderately on her only run around here where there is always the potential for trouble in running. That said, it's a very big prize for a bumper and as a result very competitive. Had it…

22/1/22 – 3rd 20/1 – Le Breuil – Ben Pauling – Ascot
We are trying blinkers on Le Breuil today after two disappointing runs that probably weren't entirely his fault. Fontwell was much too sharp while he clearly didn't enjoy the awful weather at Aintree. On last season's (and earlier) form he has a chance and the Ascot track should suit. Expecting a better showing.

22/1/22 – 2nd 25/1 – Global Citizen – Ben Pauling – Haydock
I put Global Citizen in this race on Monday when it looked a relatively weak entry. He won it three years ago beating the late-lamented Silver Streak three lengths. I liked him for a place at Ascot last time but he went off far too fast in front and paid the penalty. He had a…
