Lantiern came back to form with an excellent second in a decent race of this nature at Kempton last week. We are hopeful he can go one better and I am looking forward to seeing him run.

Bailarico has been running consistently well over hurdles and on the Flat. Last week he ran a blinder at Kempton and if the gaps fall his way he'll be hard to beat.

Everything For You should improve for his recent wind-op. He's a talented horse but has not achieved much recently. This though is a moderate race and he could be quite competitive. 

Apart from the top-weight who has a double penalty so concedes us 10lb this is not the strongest of races. Hydroplane ran well when third in a decent Flat handicap here over a mile and a half recently and this looks a good opportunity.

Party Fuzz will be a chaser in time but considering that, this big horse ran well in bumpers. He is learning his trade over hurdles and is one very much for the future.

Karl Philippe is a decent and pretty consistent horse who has looked all over the winner the last twice but clumsy late mistakes have cost him dear. This could be his day.

Golden Taipan, like Jarveys Plate, has plenty of speed. He has decent form around here over jumps and as he goes best on fast ground should enjoy this surface. Each-way chances. 

We have been waiting for better ground for Young Lieutenant so this seemed a good opportunity to get him out. You can safely put a line through his last run and I am expecting him to put in a strong performance today.

We were expecting a big run from Sheila Nash at Wincanton last week but she jinked left at the start losing her rider. She had run very well when second at Ludlow just over a year before that and as long as she avoids any similar misfortune, we are hopeful of a good effort today.

The Retriever comes here after a break and while he should go well enough he'll tighten up for the run. His young rider is inexperienced but shows plenty of promise. His claim will be useful in this apprentice race but the favourite will be hard to beat.

Off the track since September, Lantiern is two from two in all-weather bumpers and a spin on Kempton's Polytrack could be the perfect place to get him up and running again. Great chance.

Timberman ran very well on his stable debut in quite a competitive one of these races at Lingfield. If he can build on that he could go close.

This horse has had two runs on the Flat and this is his third so he should qualify for a handicap mark after tonight. This trip is far too short but needs must as there are very few novice races for older horses.

King Of Realms won an Ascot bumper at the start of his career and could go well in this sort of race. He runs in high-class handicap chase company normally and could find this easier grade to his liking. Hopefully he will get involved.

Moon King would be easily the best of these on Flat ratings and the trip will also be a help as he stays well. He got off the mark over hurdles last time and he should be good enough although the Skelton horse has possibilities as he seems to be shaping as a better hurdler…

By and large Ballycrystal has been struggling apart from one second behind Cathal's Star (who runs in the previous race) at Sedgefield. He is likely to find one or two too speedy although two and half miles around here on the level will take plenty of getting.

The Resdev Way is a Southwell specialist at his level on the Flat but did run a fair race on the Tapeta here over a mile and a half. He is one who will not mind the surface so could have a small each-way shout.
