Amberose had been rather moody in recent races and we planned retirement. She was covered by Gentlewave and is safely in foal and we have found her to be blooming since she came back to Greystoke. This will definitely be her final race but it would not be a surprise if in her present condition…

Right Destination needed his comeback run the other day at Newton Abbot after a layoff. He looks to be in the correct race now and again we feel we have an each-way chance.

Marsabit is an honest little horse and he remains in great form. I'm slightly worried to be going to the well a bit too soon after Leicester but you have to take your chances when they come along.

No No Maestro has come down in the handicap. He ran a better race off this mark last time and in receipt of plenty of weight from his main rivals has to have a decent place chance.

Speedo Boy won this race three years ago. It was his last win on the level with 17 subsequent defeats and he is the grand total of 6lb lower! He's in good form and should put up a decent run, as has been the case the last twice.

Although Glorious Spirit was a beaten favourite on debut he wasn't especially strongly fancied it's just that our horses often do attract attention first time out. He did disappoint at Sedgefield afterwards but you cannot always take Sedgefield bumper form at face value. We've given him a wind-op and he's been working well so I…

Estrela Star comes here off a better run last time and now drops into an amateurs' race over a shorter trip. That might not be ideal but he has a handy weight and should enjoy Newbury. Each-way chance.

Hopefully I have found the right race for Myboymax, who stayed on well last time up the long Nottingham straight and Yarmouth is very similar. Races of this nature are difficult to find and this bargain buy has to go very close today.

Rintulla has more experience over fences than our other runner in this race. He ran better last time and could be competitive if he runs up to his best.

It's reasonable to hope that C'Mon Kenny, a bumper winner on debut, will find a bit going up in trip from his novice runs in this first handicap. He seems fairly treated and should go close.

Exceedingly Regal goes nicely. He ran well on his return at Salisbury so his subsequent Haydock effort was a big disappointment. I think he will like the all-weather and he could run into a place in an ordinary-looking 0-80 handicap.
