Pearl Beach ran well last time here, third behind two progressive three-year-olds who have boosted the form with places reversed since then. She might have been second with a clear run and while there is a fresh batch of improving younger rivals in this field, it could be the day she gets back to winning…

29/07/21 – 2nd 16/1 – Eagle Creek – William Knight – Newcastle
I've been wanting to run Eagle Creek over Newcastle's seven furlongs for some time and it's worked out well that there is a suitable race on this first day of the Team challenge. The prizemoney is great and two of the 30 horses we nominated are in action. Our team also involves Stuart Williams, George…

29/07/21 – 1st 7/2 – Tel’Art – Ben Pauling – Stratford upon Avon
Tel'Art had a productive time last summer but was out of form during the winter. He has had a break and returns 4lb below his last winning mark. We have to be hopeful of a creditable comeback.

28/07/21 – 3rd 10/1 – Dual Identity – William Knight – Leicester
I took Dual Identity out of Yarmouth yesterday as the ground would have been too firm but it's good/good to firm here today and if they get a shower it would be ideal. Dual Identity went too fast last time at Lingfield when a mile and a half proved beyond him but back two furlongs…

28/07/21 – 1st 85/40 – Solar Impulse – Ian Williams – Perth
With two non-runners Solar Impulse will face only three opponents. Last time at Market Rasen when going for a hat-trick he was clear at the final fence but fell with the race at his mercy. He has been raised 2lb for that - double jeopardy! - and the ground today is not ideal. Good chance…

28/07/21 – 1st 18/5 – Amberose – Nicky Richards – Perth
Amberose had been rather moody in recent races and we planned retirement. She was covered by Gentlewave and is safely in foal and we have found her to be blooming since she came back to Greystoke. This will definitely be her final race but it would not be a surprise if in her present condition…

27/07/21 – 3rd 10/1 – Right Destination – Fergal O’Brien – Worcester
Right Destination needed his comeback run the other day at Newton Abbot after a layoff. He looks to be in the correct race now and again we feel we have an each-way chance.

27/07/21 – 1st 10/1 – The Vollan – Charlie Longsdon – Worcester
The Vollan today? Good question. He's not very straight-forward nowadays although he still has plenty of ability. I thought bringing him back in trip might make things a little easier for him but I'm not going there with any confidence.

27/07/21 – 1st 3/1 – Leading Theatre – Fergal O’Brien – Worcester
Leading Theatre won with a bit in hand on debut over the course and the penalty is doubly offset by the mares' allowance and Liam's 5lb claim. Big chance of a follow up.

26/07/21 – 1st 15/8 – Ultimate Getaway – Fergal O’Brien – Newton Abbot
Ultimate Getaway won well at Worcester and then understandably could not give weight to a impressive odds-on winner last time. Still in great shape, he has a favourite's chance today.

24/07/21 – 2nd 13/2 – Marsabit – Hughie Morrison – Ascot
Marsabit is an honest little horse and he remains in great form. I'm slightly worried to be going to the well a bit too soon after Leicester but you have to take your chances when they come along.

24/07/21 – 2nd 33/1 – Boy In The Bar – Ian Williams – Newcastle
Obviously Boy In The Bar is running nowhere near his old form. Even this year he has dropped by more than a stone. He has raced only once at a mile, almost six years ago on his last run before joining us and I'm hoping stepping up to that trip will energise the old boy.…

23/07/21 – 1st 5/2 – No No Maestro – Fergal O’Brien – Uttoxeter
No No Maestro has come down in the handicap. He ran a better race off this mark last time and in receipt of plenty of weight from his main rivals has to have a decent place chance.

23/07/21 – 1st 8/1 – Speedo Boy – Ian Williams – Ascot
Speedo Boy won this race three years ago. It was his last win on the level with 17 subsequent defeats and he is the grand total of 6lb lower! He's in good form and should put up a decent run, as has been the case the last twice.

23/07/21 – 1st 7/2 – Glorious Spirit – Nicky Richards – Uttoxeter
Although Glorious Spirit was a beaten favourite on debut he wasn't especially strongly fancied it's just that our horses often do attract attention first time out. He did disappoint at Sedgefield afterwards but you cannot always take Sedgefield bumper form at face value. We've given him a wind-op and he's been working well so I…

22/07/21 – 1st 16/1 – Estrela Star – Ali Stronge – Newbury
Estrela Star comes here off a better run last time and now drops into an amateurs' race over a shorter trip. That might not be ideal but he has a handy weight and should enjoy Newbury. Each-way chance.

22/07/21 – 1st 9/1 – Myboymax – Micky Hammond – Yarmouth
Hopefully I have found the right race for Myboymax, who stayed on well last time up the long Nottingham straight and Yarmouth is very similar. Races of this nature are difficult to find and this bargain buy has to go very close today.

22/07/21 – 1st 11/1 – Rintulla – Ben Pauling – Worcester
Rintulla has more experience over fences than our other runner in this race. He ran better last time and could be competitive if he runs up to his best.

– 1st 7/4 – C’mon Kenny – Ian Williams – Sandown
It's reasonable to hope that C'Mon Kenny, a bumper winner on debut, will find a bit going up in trip from his novice runs in this first handicap. He seems fairly treated and should go close.

20/07/21 – 3rd 16/1 – Exceedingly Regal – William Knight – Wolverhampton
Exceedingly Regal goes nicely. He ran well on his return at Salisbury so his subsequent Haydock effort was a big disappointment. I think he will like the all-weather and he could run into a place in an ordinary-looking 0-80 handicap.
