Bangers and Cash is a nice chaser in the making. He's a good deal better than his bumper debut suggests, as he wasn't ready to be making the running at this stage of his development. An outsider today but one to watch with interest.

31/12/20 – 2nd 5/2 – Ask Dillon – Fergal O’Brien – Carlisle
Ask Dillon ran a fantastic race when back over hurdles in a very competitive Grade 3 handicap over three miles at Haydock. He was a creditable fourth of 17 to the very smart and prolific Main Fact and off only 1lb higher should be very hard to beat. He has been in great form since…

13/12/20 – 3rd 17/2 – Cossack Dancer – Oliver Sherwood – Southwell
Cossack Dancer was very green when he ran in his debut bumper at Newbury so seventh was in no way a disgrace. He had thought racing was a bit of a game but since he's been schooling he's knuckled down a bit and we expect a much-improved showing today.

13/12/20 – 1st 100/30 – Balleticon – Kim Bailey – Southwell
Balletico has been off for 705 days at which point he had been showing a good level of form in bumpers. He is fit and well for this first time over hurdles and could be placed or maybe even better?

12/12/20 – 2nd 9/2 – Lleyton – Micky Hammond – Wolverhampton
It was a bit of a surprise to us when Lleyton, a horse we hadn't had for very long, won first time out around here at 50-1. Stamina won him the day after they went a strong pace over a mile and threequarters and the race rather fell in his lap. He's been working nicely…

12/12/20 – 3rd 11/2 – Crossgalesfamegame – Fergal O’Brien – Cheltenham
Crossgalesfamegame made a promising reappearance at Wincanton, staying on when the race was already over. She has a bit to find with the winner but this track will suit her better and she should have a good each-way shout.

12/12/20 – 1st 17/2 – Rocky’s Treasure – Kim Bailey – Doncaster
The ground has probably gone against Rocky's Treasure judging on yesterday's surface. He has had very little racing and I suspect he will be better on spring ground - and a few pounds lower in the handicap!

12/12/20 – 3rd 5/1 – Jersey Bean – Oliver Sherwood – Doncaster
Jersey Bean has been having a cracking season since being equipped with blinkers, something suggested by Henrietta Knight after she had him for a two-week schooling session. He has won his last two impressively and his confidence is sky high. Despite going up in the weights, he must have a great chance of completing the…

12/12/20 – 2nd 8/1 – Cardano – Ian Williams – Newcastle
Cardano made a very good all-weather debut on this course and distance last time, and a repetition would give him a clear each-way chance. As is often the case, a couple of three-year-olds look the potential problems.

12/12/20 – 1st 5/2 – Hurricane Harvey – Fergal O’Brien – Doncaster
Hurricane Harvey is well up to the class on ratings and looks sure to run his usual consistent race. It could be that the Tizzard horse might be hard to beat on these level terms.

12/12/20 – 2nd 7/1 – Jen’s Fella – Ian Williams – Newcastle
Jen's Fella made a promising first run for the stable last time moving up to this trip at Lingfield. If he's in the same form today he should go very close.

12/12/20 – 3rd 8/1 – No No Juliet – Fergal O’Brien – Hereford
No No Juliet made a promising start for the stable at Chepstow and will come on for the run. She has place chances but will probably find it difficult to give 5lb to the favourite.

Judging on yesterday I think the ground may have gone against Solar Impulse. He's in fine form though and could still run a decent race.

12/12/20 – 1st 5/2 – Optimise Prime – Ben Pauling – Hereford
The absence of the overnight favourite slightly eases the task for Optimise Prime, but it's still competitive enough. One thing's for sure, he won't be 50-1 again as he was when winning oiver course and distance on debut. Luca's claim more than offests the 6lb penalty and he should go well again.

11/12/20 – 1st 9/2 – Knocknamona – Micky Hammond – Bangor
It's ages since Knocknamona won a race, but he was successful in this three years ago and both the trip and heavy ground that he will encounter today are ideal. His mark has slipped a long way and he must have each-way chances in an ordinary race.

Twojayslad ran really well last time at Uttoxeter after another longish absence. He will not have to improve much to win this.

11/12/20 – 1st 13/8 – Happygolucky – Kim Bailey – Cheltenham
This lovely horse ran well last time and was probably beaten by the tight track at Fakenham. I'm keen to get him experience of Cheltenham and he is the form horse in the race although not top-rated. Fingers crossed for a very bold showing.

This 5yo ran well on his seasonal return and performed as if the race was needed. He meets a lot of out-of-form rivals and I cannot see why he shouldn't go very close.

– Make Me A Believer – Ken Pitterson – Cheltenham
This gelding by Presenting got off the mark at Chepstow and that race's form has been boosted since. He ran well behind the highly-regarded Bear Ghylls on his next start and with likely improvement to come, should be in with a fighting chance.

10/12/20 – 3rd 100/30 – Zayriyan – Ali Stronge – Chelmsford
Zayriyan has an obvious chance in a race of this nature but remains a long-running maiden. I would not be surprised if he made the frame again but things would have to go absolutely right for him to get his head in front on the line.
